The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program – AIPP is local employers of the Atlantic Canada region to identify, recruit and retain global talents. It is a fast-track immigration program which allows the employers in four Atlantic Provinces – Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island to hire foreign nationals for jobs that have not been able to fill locally.


AIPP requirements


1. The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program has two programs for skilled workers:

Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AHSP): For this program, the candidate should have:

At least 1 year of Canadian high school diploma or equivalent education

Worked in management, professional or technical skilled job

Language proficiency in English or French.

They should be able to support themselves and family in Canada.


Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program (AISP): For this program, the candidate should have:

At least 1 year of experience with relevant education and job-specific training

A Canadian high school diploma or equivalent education.

Language proficiency in English or French.

They should be able to support themselves and family in Canada.


2. One program for international student graduates:

Atlantic International Graduate Program (AIGP): For AIGP the candidate should have

a degree, diploma or another credential from the publically-funded institution in an Atlantic provinces

Stayed in an Atlantic province for at least 16 months in two years before getting a degree, diploma or related credential.

Work experience is not required for international graduates hired through this program.


The three-year pilot program forms part of the Atlantic Growth Strategy that is focused on the following five priority areas:

Skilled workforce and immigration

Innovation

Clean growth and climate change

Trade and investment

Infrastructure


The procedure of employment:


The designated employer in Atlantic Provinces will offer job and Offer of Employment to a Foreign National form to candidates who meet their employment needs and program criteria.

When the candidate accepts the job offer, they will have to sign the Offer of Employment to a Foreign National form.

The employer will connect the candidate with a designated settlement service provider organization for assessment and develop a settlement plan.

who needs to fill a job vacancy quickly will have access to a temporary work permit.


Required


Travel documents – passport

Should have basic work experience as required by employment from Alberta employer

Language proficiency in English or French.

They should be able to support themselves and family in Canada.

After the candidate gets a job offer from a designated employer, the candidate needs to get a settlement plan.

After candidate have the settlement plan, the province must endorse the job offer
