OPEN WORK PERMIT

An Open Work Permit is the work permit that is given for the non-specific job. An open work permit lets the candidate work for any employer in Canada. Since the Open Work Permit is a non-specific job, the applicant will not need the following when applying for a work permit:

A Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from Employment and Social Development Canada

Employer proof to be submitted in the employer portal regarding an offer of employment

Employer to pay the Employer Compliance fee

The applicant may have to pay the open work permit holder fee while paying the fee for the work permit.

Openwork permits extension

If the individual has an open work permit, he/she may be able to extend it as long as he/she is still eligible to work in Canada under an open work permit.
